- ✓ Fixed-length leash, 4–6 feet maximum
- ✓ Well-fitting harness (two fingers should fit snugly under every strap)

- ✓ Microchip registered and contact info current (check this now)
- ✓ A recent photo of your dog on your phone for lost dog reports
- ✓ Your dog's name and your contact info on their collar tag and harness if possible
Packing List
Hydration and Nutrition

- ✓ More water than you think you need. Pack a minimum of 1 liter per hour of expected attendance
- ✓ High-value treats (not their regular kibble)
- ✓ Their regular food if you'll be out past a normal meal time
First Aid
- ✓ Pet first-aid kit (or at minimum: gauze, medical tape, antiseptic wipes, tweezers, Benadryl if approved by your vet in advance)

- ✓ Your vet's phone number and the nearest emergency animal hospital address saved in your phone
Paw Protection
- ✓ Dog booties (be sure to acclimate your dog to these ahead of time)
- ✓ Paw wax as an alternative if booties aren't an option (apply 30 minutes before walking on pavement)
- ✓ Check paws before, during, and after for cuts, cracks, or heat damage
Comfort and Control
- ✓ A familiar-smelling item (small blanket or toy) for grounding if your dog becomes stressed
- ✓ Waste bags (bring more than you think you'll need)
- ✓ A backup leash
- ✓ Cooling bandana or vest if attending in warm weather
Final Check
Before you leave
- Is your dog eating and drinking normally this morning?
- Are they behaving normally, or do they seem off?
- Is the weather within a safe range?
- Do you have an exit plan if your dog shows stress signals at the event?
